The Color of Tree.
This public display of art explored topics that the artist typically faces when working in the public sphere. Topics such as who gets to participate in pubic art, social responsibility, self-reliance, spatial reinvention, and the politics of art. Over the course of a four-hour workshop we discussed these topics while working collectively to create the works that hung on an oak tree in Baldwin Park located on the corner of Elgin and Crawford in Houston Texas. During our workshop we painted on small wooden pieces, discussed street art politics and atheistic, and for the finally we collectively installed our paintings in the fashion of guerilla art, acting bad in public for arts sake! -2014
