The Color of Tree.
This public display of art explored topics that the artist typically faces when working in the public sphere. Topics such as who gets to participate in pubic art, social responsibility, self-reliance, spatial reinvention in the public realm, and the politics of art. Over the course of a four-hour workshop in, we discussed these topics while working collectively to create the works that hung on an oak in Baldwin Park on the corner of Elgin and Crawford in Houston Texas. The workshop consistence of presentations, painting, and non-formal dialogue about art. The last movement of our time together we installed our mobile paintings, in the fashion of guerilla art, acting bad in public for arts sake! -2014
